I went out by myself last Sunday. I went to Victoria to eat and stroll...
I decided to treat myself with chocolates. I forgot that i had the book Andie lend me the other day inside my bag.
The book was Like water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. The first time I heard the book was when my english 13 prof gave us the list of books we were going to make as a book report. But i never got to read or even see what the book was...So i was quite thrilled when Andie lend it to me...She had the latest printed copy and i think it was brand new...
So off I strolled...
After buying myself some supplies...i went to the booksale...It has been a ritual for me that whenever I go to malls, I'll drop by to booksales or bookstores...
I was scanning through the books and then I saw it...
"What was that green book that looks exactly like what i have inside my bag?!?"
"Am i hallucinating..is this the real thing...?"
Waah! I was shocked to see the book in the booksale! The same book i have...which costs really cheap! so cheap! waaah! Talk about luck..hahaha
So i bought it...Though it made me a little bit guilty because I got to spend the whole of my allowance for the week...Well, I still do believe that books are still go investments..
Haha...so another good buy for me!=)
So i started reading the book while eating some of the treats I bought to treat myself..
Life is great!=)

Endless Faith
I am practically in love with this song..
It won the best in contemporary group in Awit..
The song is literally playing inside my head for the past three days now...
I LOVE the SONG!
i wish i can share it with you..but i just can't upload it because we are still working on its copyright...
I'll share the lyrics na lang...
Verse 1
I’m not tired
Walking in this world while I’m blind
When I’m lost and alone all alone
I’m not tired
Searching
I feel the fire inside my bones
When I’m down and I’m lonely
That’s because I’m a man I’m a man
But You said that there was something inside of
Like the wind blows
Chorus 1
And now
Here’s my shoulder
Stronger and stronger
Give me that cross and I’ll be
I’ll be You
Verse 2
I touch Your wounds
I know that’s me
That’s because I’m a man, I’m a man
And I’m here to pay all the thing You’ve done
Chorus 2
And now
Here’s my shoulder
Not that I’m stronger
Give me that cross and I’ll be
Bridge
As I walk down the aisle
I feel that nails in my hands
And I ask why
Is that because I’m a man
(Adlib)
(Repeat Chorus 1 2x)
I will tell you
---but if you really like to hear this..log on to www.awitenista.com...may lyrics din dun and all the info bout the song..

Brother
My brother Ronald is celebrating his 22nd birthday tomorrow.
Tomorrow..he's gonna be three years, five months and five days older than me...he is always is...
Tomorrow...i believe, his cellphone, multiply and friendster will be bombarded with birthday greetings from random individuals i may not know of...i don't care...
Tomorrow...i believe, he will spend his day with his class and students or even with his girlfriend...or maybe (fingers-crossed!) with my family...
Tomorrow...if he's spending his birthday with my family that means with my mama, tatay, my Kuya Hero and li'l bro Nikko...maybe there's tito ray, tita helen, arde, ica and paulo...but no Pre..no hugs or kisses from his little sister...no text from his little sister...the only sister he has...
Tomorrow...his going to get older...
I wish i was closer with my brother..We grew up together..I remembered how many times we fought on silly things when we were growing up...
He is a nurse. I think he's proud of himself. I think my parents are too. But he doesn't know I'm proud of him too...I...me...his little sister..the only sister he got...
So this blog entry is dedicated to my brother..who doesn't know that even his little sister who's five hundrer miles away is proud that she has a crazy big brother...who never fails to cheer her up with donuts and munchkins...
I love you Kuya Doy..please don't settle down soon...I'm not gonna let you! Bleh!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

You don't know me
I was browsing through some friends pages and I read through their blogs. There's this tagging going on in multiply. I was tagged by some of them but i never really continued the cycle...so much for tagging me along.
Tagging is much like poking a person then you have no choice but to answer the questions or tell unusual things people don't know about you... Mura gud chain message ui na macurse ka with bad luck for 20 years...duh??? haha
Anyway...cge let me try... but i'm not tagging anyone! duh!
1. Akala ng mga nakakakilala sa akin....super energetic akong tao...hindi nila alam...naturally energetic lang talaga ako!! waaah...
2. I only eat two times a day.
(Wala na kasi akong ref sa boarding house..dinala sa farm namin...kaya hindi na ako nakakaluto tapos tamad na ring bumili pa...sa skul na ako kumakain..or minsan hindi na kumakain...that explains why ang payat ko!)
3. I love chocolates. (Everybody does!)
(Yeah....pero I can remember one time when my tita gave me a pack of hershey's kisses sa sobrang takaw sinuka ko! waaah...tapos nakita ko yung chocolates talagang nanghinayang ako! huhuhuhuhuhu)
4. I am a good cook.
(haha..yeah! i cook...my secret dream kasi ako..pero kung sasabihin ko hindi na secret!)
5. I wash my own clothes.
6. I'm actually a really private person...
(this might surprise you..but i am actually a private person..)
7. I watch people. I love watching people!
(i don't know why but i do...)
8. I don't watch horror films...
(hehe..scaredy-cat!)
9. I watch Marimar.
(ngano man diay?!??)
10. I love travelling and want to do more of it...
(Ahh..i love it when i go to places....I want to go to Ilocos or to Corregidor...soon it might just come true!!!)
11. My mum is a really cool mum..we chat!
(yep that's right! she even have a friendster account! want to add her up?! ayoko lang madiscover niya tong multiply site ko..hahaha pero siguro alam niya na because my brothers are here too...baka alam niya na nga ngayon! ouch! i love you mum!!!)
12. I feel most beautiful after a bath...
(weeeh!!)
13. I miss my long-curly-jet-black hair..
(but i'm lovin' my new haircut..)
14. I love coffee...pero i had to take a really strict restriction on it...
(Why? i almost got killed because of too much caffeine...just don't drink coffee before taking a flight and especially kung hindi ka natulog ng dalawang araw...)
15. I never had a boyfriend!
16. I wonder why people smoke...
17. i wonder why i'm telling all of you these...

The Search for Ateneo Diamond Jubilee Theme Song

The Search for the Ateneo de Davao Diamond Jubilee Theme Song
The Awitenista 2008 Productions, Kalasag—ang taunang aklat ng Ateneo de davao University in cooperation with the Ateneo de Davao Diamond Jubilee Organizing Committee and the Office of Student Affairs present the Search for the Ateneo Diamond Jubilee Theme Song.
What is the Search for the Ateneo Diamond Jubilee Theme Song?
The search is a special category for the Awitenista 2008 Finals. It is a song-writing category searching for the official theme song for the Ateneo de Davao University’s 60th Founding Anniversary.
What is the theme of the song?
The song must depict Ateneo’s 60 years of excellence as a Filipino, Catholic and Jesuit University. It must be inspired by the university’s thrust, following the Ignatian ideals of Magis, cura personalis, ad majorem dei gloriam and Ateneo de Davao’s motto, “Fortes in Fide”.
Who can join?
Since it is a special category for the Awitenista 2008 Finals, it follows a different set of guidelines from the five original Awitenista categories (Contemporary Solo, Contemporary Group, Jam Atenista, Religious and Nationalistic).
The search is open to any member of the Ateneo de Davao University community (Alumni, Students and Faculty members of the School of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing, School of Business and Governance, High School, Grade School, Law School and Graduate School, and the Non-Teaching Staff, even the current finalists of Awitenista 2008), who may or may not be currently employed as a professional composer, singer or musician. This applies to the composer, interpreter/s and accompanists.
What are the song specifications?
The use of acoustic instruments (e.g. acoustic guitars, acoustic bass guitars, keyboards in piano mode and without effects, pianos, bongos, congos, rainmakers, percussion boxes or kahon, tambourines, chimes and maracas), tribal instruments, electric guitars, electric bass guitars and drum set are allowed. The usage of tribal instruments is as well permitted.
All entries must be original, from lyrics to melody. Musical arrangements and melody can be acoustic, RNB, Jazz, Light Reggae, Country, Light Alternative Rock, and Ethnical genres. HEAVYMETAL and HEAVY ROCK (LOUD EXPLICIT MUSIC) are strictly PROHIBITED.
The song can be written in Filipino or English according to the composer’s discretion. Execution of the song must not exceed five (5) minutes.
Criteria for Judging
The entries will be judged according to the same criteria like that of the other five categories. The criteria of judging is as follows:
30% songwriting ability, as exemplified in the lyrics submitted
25% musicality, (includes melody and arrangement)
20% originality and creativity
• 10% originality and creativity of the lyrics’ content
• 10% originality and creativity of how it was interpreted & accompanied (performance)
15% appropriateness of song lyrics to the theme of the category
10% overall impact
• 5% audience impact
• 5% stage presence
Screening and Contest Duration
Composers must completely fill out the Search for Ateneo de Davao Diamond Jubilee Theme Song Entry Forms that are available at the Kalasag Office, the sponsoring organization of Awitenista 2008. The song must be submitted and recorded in a CD format and must be passed together with three (3) copies of the lyrics.
The deadline of submission of entries (CD, entry forms, lyrics) is on February 6, 2007 at the Kalasag Office, located at the Covered Court Building of the Jacinto Campus.
Submitted entries will be screened by the Ateneo de Davao Diamond Jubilee Organizing Committee headed by the Office of Student Affairs and will be judged by the same judges of the other five Awitenista categories during the Finals.
Only three finalists will advance and perform during the Awitenista 2008 Finals on February 16, 2007 at the Ateneo de Davao, Jacinto Campus Covered Court.
Prizes! Prizes!
Other than becoming Ateneo’s official theme song for its 60th year founding anniversary, big prizes await the winner of the category courtesy of the Ateneo Diamond Jubilee organizing committee.

My life story...nah!
I just recently cut my hair. My hair turned out to be the shortest I have since my grade school years. I’ve never been into a salon for sixth months and voila, the hairdresser was pulling my used-to-be-long-curly-jet black hair. So much for my hair history.
Snatcher—the word which I ultimately abhor. The brother of unkindness, the daughter of revenge, the father of corruption.
When I went to Manila just two weeks ago, I agreed to exchange my cellular phone with my roommate. She needed my Nokia phone because it had a louder alarm than her Sony Ericsson K_i. It was fine by me since it wasn’t the first time we exchanged phones.
When I got back to school, it was a Tuesday. Having missed my journalism class the night before I was caught up between writing my film critique which was due that night and fatigue for not sleeping (literally not sleeping!) for two consecutive nights.
And so when I was in my vulnerable moment in life, he or she grabbed the opportunity and seized or should I say snatched that damn phone which was not mine from my bag while doing my article! I didn’t really know what happened, so as three of my friends who were with me in the same table during the time of the incident.
Thanks to me for trusting my fellow Ateneans enough. Blame it also to my carelessness for leaving that darn black bag astray!
I was reading the President’s bulletin and have read numerous messages about the snatching in campus. I never thought things like that will eventually affect me—really affect me.
I want to tell you the real reason I cut my hair.
Maybe I was so fed up with the things going on around me. The lost cellphone which added to the stress of my parents that led to them not talking to me, the pressure of beating the deadline for my television class not to mention the tabloid you are reading write now, the big basket of laundry you need to wash, the stress of being broke because you spent the whole allowance meant for two weeks…you know the rest of the story.
When you are a college student staggering with all the requirements you need to finish plus the issues you are dealing within yourself, your parents, others, community, society, the world. The list is endless. You name, we deal with them with every moment of our breathing existence.
So what am I trying to say?
I salute to every single person who can relate to my little fairytale, or maybe worse. When you are left all alone in a big city, and you are expected to be good, I know it’s hard. So kudos to all of us! We may be older before our time but who cares? We are mightier than martyrs, more powerful than our politicians and smarter than Einstein! The youth indeed can change the nation (sounding more like Rizal).
So when you are caught with stress and pimples, change your hairstyle. Will it do you good or not, who cares? It is just hair, a microcosm of your body which is divided into groups and subgroups of stands of collagen and protein. It will eventually grow to any length your wicked hairdresser decides to snip off on your next salon appointment.
By the way, my mum and I are back with our YM sessions…and she sent me my allowance too. Life is still beautiful after all.
